MR ROCKY

Herman "Rocky" Marandu, professionally known as Mr Rocky, is a Tanzanian conscious hip-hop artist, EMcee, actor, and corporate lawyer based in Arusha, Tanzania. He entered the music industry in 2022 with a mission to revive socially responsible hip-hop. While many artists focus only on entertainment, Mr Rocky uses music to address law, justice, identity, and social issues, turning real-life experiences into powerful lyrical messages. In 2025, his single “Confidence” (ft Ruff G) won Best Educational/Informative Single at the Entertainment Arts Excellence Awards (EAEA Tanzania), recognizing his impact in conscious music and youth empowerment. Blending legal insight with poetic storytelling, Mr Rocky creates music that educates, inspires, and challenges society.
